The Martisberg Enduro Trail is not a loud star, but a quiet hit – and that’s precisely what makes it special. How to get there: via Fiescheralp and Bettmeralp along the Herrenweg trail or by branching off from the Bettmerhorn Trail.
After a short climb near Bättmerhitta, you enter a hidden off-road world on the Enduro Trail. And that’s where the magic begins. The narrow path winds its way through alpine roses, juniper, blueberries and cranberries – pure natural scenery in the Aletsch Arena. Again and again you surf over small ridges and flowing crossings. In the larch forest, it gets more rooty, more technical – but never unfair. The line is a mix of earthy bends, short rocky passages, alpine meadows and forest sections – really good to ride, really nice to experience. Shortly before Martisberg, there is a short stretch of tarmac before the Martisberg Enduro Trail kicks you back into a steeper section – utterly rideable, but challenging.
After that it all gets more chill: what was once a forest road is now a single trail that oozes charm – playful, rhythmic, down into the valley. Once at the bottom, you can easily return to Fiesch or the Bettmeralp valley station via the forest road or the Matterhorn Gotthard railway (included in the day ticket).

Trail signposting: Follow the red signs with the white biker symbol and the black sticker with the abbreviation MAT – this stands for Martisberg Enduro Trail.

By train from Brig or Oberwald to Betten valley station. Take the Bettmeralp cable car (Aletsch Bahnen AG) up to Bettmeralp.
