TRAIL RULES & TOLERANCE

RIDE FAIR

You know what it’s like: you’re at the start of a stage, the glacier behind you, the trail in front of you. Everything’s ready for this unique moment. But before you set off, let’s talk briefly about trail tolerance.

Trail tolerance means respecting nature and everyone who’s out and about in it. All of us – hikers, bikers, locals, guests – share the space with each other. Everyone has their own pace, their own line. But in the end, we’re all here to enjoy the same freedom.

So remember: greet hikers, show consideration, ride in style – so that the day in the mountains becomes an unforgettable experience for everyone!

Principles of trail tolerance

1. Consideration for other trail users
You know when someone blindly crashes into you on the trail because they think they’ve got the place to themselves? It really doesn’t have to be like that. Sure, we all love it ‘rough & wild’. But if we want our trails to remain open – and for hikers, locals and animals not to hate us – then we have to use our brain. Always greet hikers amicably. Brake in plenty of time, anticipate the trail ahead. A smile can make all the difference. Ride fair – ride Rollibock!

2. Respect nature and the environment
You know that guy who shoots through the undergrowth like there are no more lines? Don’t be him! Please ride on designated trails only. Don’t create shortcuts or new lines. Don’t litter – leave nothing but dust behind. Our trails deserve respect. Ride the rush without leaving a trace.

3. Safety is paramount
Trail tolerance does not mean that you ride slower. It means that you ride in style. And don’t tear up the surface on every damp bend. It means that you treat the trail as what it is: a shared playground. And yes, sometimes that does mean slapping on your brakes. Adapt your riding to your surroundings, especially on terrain with limited visibility. Ride safely – feel the vibe!

Check list

  • Check your riding position.

And while you’re about it, check your attitude too. You’re not here alone.

  • Being friendly costs you nothing.

A quick glance, a “Hello”, a “Thanks”. And everything’s chill.

  • Official lines only.

It’s not wild camping. So please don’t plough any new trails.

  • Don’t be the brake skid guy.

Rain + skid marks = destroyed trail. Go easy on the brakes – only brake when you have to.

  • Trash stays with you.

Whether a banana peel or snack wrapper – stash it in your backpack, not in the terrain.

Why all the fuss?

Because biking is only fun where it’s permitted.
Because we want to show that mountain bikers are not the hooligans of the mountain.
Because nature is our playground and we need to protect it.
Because we know that good vibes make good trails.

And because we want to ride here for a long time to come – in style.
